surprisingly disappointed in Amazon, June 5, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Toshiba Satellite P775D-S7144 17.3-Inch Laptop (Platinum) (Personal Computers) I purchased the Toshiba Satellite for an anniversary gift for our daughter and her husband. It arrived fine except it was packed in original box but with no packing around it to keep it from sliding around in the shipping box. Not what I'm used to from Amazon. Packing is usually excellent. We made a 40 mile round trip to deliver it to them and then we get a call that very evening from my daughter saying the thing won't work. As she was setting up her accounts, the mouse froze up and then she noticed that the keyboard wasn't attached correctly. I immediately checked with Amazon online on for a return. Got my return slip printed off and today was getting ready to get the package together and ready to write it off as a rare misfortune with Amazon. Now here is why I am writing. When I got the box to get it ready for shipping, I happened to notice that the packing slip on the original shipping box said that it was shipped to me from the "return" center in Hebron, Kentucky. does not come with warranty, July 2, 2012 By This review is from: Toshiba Satellite P775D-S7144 17.3-Inch Laptop (Platinum) (Personal Computers) Do not purchase a Toshiba laptop unless you do not want a warranty on it. Their warranty does not cover any thing. My laptop was 9 months old and they refused to do anything when the screen failed. They said they do not cover any software or parts only manufacturer defects. Her exact words were "only like if a plug came undone inside the unit". Everything else would not be covered. Never will I own a Toshiba product again.

It was packed tight in the origianl box but was loose to slide around in the shipping box? Nice large screen however the caseing was not the quality I had hoped it to be. The piece above the key board was popped out of place. I was able to snap it back but that pretty much did it for me. I didn't find this computer to be the quality Toshiba computer I had hoped for the price. It was on it's way back to Amazon 1 hr after receiving it. No lock to close tightly either.
I'm still using my Toshiba laptop that I purchased from Amazon seven yrs ago. So I will try again one more time.
