HP dv6t Select Edition, December 21, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: HP Pavilion dv6t Select Edition 15.6" Laptop - 2nd Generation Intel Core i5-2430m, 8GB DDR3 Ram, 750GB 5400RPM Hard Drive, Webcam, Fingerprint Reader (Dark Umber), Beats Audio, 2 USB 3.0 (Personal Computers) Solid laptop, no real complaints with it's build. Feels solid, strong and sturdy. Looks very slick and is eye catching. The tile layout keyboard makes typing very easy. Only two minor issues: there is a slight keyboard flex around the f8 key, and the HP light up logo on the cover "bleeds" through the LCD screen when the screen is turned off (usually shutting down and starting up is the only time you notice this, making it look like your screen is broken in that corner).
HP of course has their bloatware and other useless software on the laptop which is a little annoying.(AVG virus scanner detected adware and spyware in the "wildtagent" HP games that were included)
Now to the only reason I almost DIDN'T buy this laptop. Beats Audio. If you search Youtube for "beats audio shady business" you will see why Beats is just a gimmick. I have my EQ settings for bass and treble set where I want it. When I restart the laptop Beats audio takes over on startup and resets... Read more

Every single person who watches or listens to anything on my laptop is amazed by the sound...when I don't even have it halfway up!! This laptop is fast, easy to use, no complaints whatsoever. It was the best buy for the money, and it even looks great with it's sleek black top. It's lightweight, and I love it. Beats Audio was the final selling point for me...even though I wasn't too sure how much it would make a difference. Laptop speakers are NEVER loud enough though and that drives me crazy!! This laptop...answered my needs.
