I did thorough research and even waited half a year before finally making the purchase. So for I've only had about a week's worth of experience using it but it doesn't take very long to recognize and appreciate quality. ASUS and MSI are both powerhouses when it comes to producing high end and quality computer products. Popular computer brands will have their parts made by either ASUS or MSI for their high end lines of computers. In terms of practicality and functionality, this little machine meets all of my needs. I picked this one in particular for it's versatility for business use. With over 7+ hours of moderate to high system resources use, it has meet and exceeded my expectations on battery life. This lead me to start looking for something else. After a failed attempt to purchase an open box Viao at the local box store I stumbled upon this little beast.
Windows treats the Dual Core i5 as a quad thanks to Hyper threading and the performance is not at all bad. I was very happy with the performance I encountered while setting it up and then later running a few games on it.
Why Asus would choose to put 6GB in it rather then 4GB or 8GB is one of those questions that will never be answered. This basically means that if you want to put 8GB in it, you will have to throw away, donate, or store the 2GB SODIMM in one of the slots. That said, it does run in dual channel mode and has more than enough memory for just about anything you would want to do.
The 1366x768 resolution is not bad, and at 13.3 and this price I really don't expect more. The... Read more

too poor laptop, June 10, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: ASUS U31SG-AS52 13.3-Inch Laptop (Black) (Personal Computers) its first time im buying ASUS and im not impressive of it; it came with the open cover on back , so i should push it for close it; the sound is not good, the worst I heard on my previous laptops. also the small cover on front-top is detached in the middle and i dont know how to fix it.memory is 6g , but you cant feel difference in comparable with one laptop 2g.the only one problem disturb me very much is the sound , even you put volume maximal , is quiet low volume and not bass at all.i tried many settings of sound, but not way to have a good sound.i cant send back because i really need laptop now and i cant loose time, but i would like to change it with some one else.
