Fast Delivery- Awesome Laptop!!!, April 29, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Dell XPS X17L-2250SLV 17-Inch Laptop (Elemental Silver) (Personal Computers) This laptop is awesome! Updates and setup take a little while but, I was up and running in a couple hours. The drive is 7200rpm and JBL sound is icing on the cake. 17 inch screen is huge compared to 14-15 I've had in the past. 5 stars for this laptop. Thank you Amazon!!

Had it now for a year, July 7, 2012 By This review is from: Dell XPS X17L-2250SLV 17-Inch Laptop (Elemental Silver) (Personal Computers) The laptop is good. I wish they were as well put together as Apple macs. The speed is really good, the Windows 7 operating system is also very good. Here are the problems I experienced during the year:
* Panel around the screen broke. It was repaired, and reason attributed to a screw not on tight enough.
* Camera malfunctioned, and was replaced.
* The power cable is definetely BAD. It fits in the back, and sticks out straight. This is bad because if you lay down with the laptop on your lap, the cable sticking out is bound to be pressed by your legs. Also the power cable does not stay in place. It falls out so easily.
* I had ordered the 9 cell batter; however, only a year later, and it is not charging properly. I heard that I should use the laptop without the battery when using the charger; however, since the cable falls out so easily, I definetly don't want to do that.
* The charger is HUGE, it takes place in your laptop bag. A new one only costs $22 on... Read more

Hate the Keyboard!, May 29, 2012 By This review is from: Dell XPS X17L-2250SLV 17-Inch Laptop (Elemental Silver) (Personal Computers) Just got this laptop. Overall it's okay. It needs some tweaking here and there, but not any more than any new machine. However, I HATE the keyboard. Because it has a number pad on the right side (which I've never seen on a laptop), it makes the regular keys much closer together, and important keys such as Delete are in inconvenient places. I'm still trying to decide if I'll get used to it enough to live with it for the next several years or if I will just return it. Just typing this has made my hands hurt, because the keyboard is so small. Grrrr.
