Great Budget Laptop with a lot of features, January 20, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lenovo Ideapad Z570 1024DCU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Gun Metal Grey) (Personal Computers) I did a lot of research before buying my latest laptop. I wanted to keep purchase under $700 but wanted most bang for my buck. I researched reliability, ease of use, performance, etc. I was originally leaning toward an ASUS, but decided to include Lenovo after reading that Lenovo was the #2 brand after apple. I had a thinkpad a long time ago when it was still IBM which I was very pleased with.
For my needs I wanted the I5 Processor, at least 4GB of memory, at least a 500 gig hard drive, and at least 15 inch display. The more I read the more I wanted the Intel Wireless Display, even though I may not buy the adapter for my TV for awhile. This computer has all of that for a very reasonable price when compared to others. It was a little more than a couple, but was a new model with a new processor and 6 vs 4 gigs of memory. The only thing I wish it had was the trackball like my old thinkpad, but I like the overall of this laptop more than the new thinkpads.

With resentment in my heart at what happened, I vowed to get a laptop that would withstand the threat of thievery! The Ideapad Z570 offers both fingerprint security and face recognition. I saw this laptop online for $634 but read from another reviewer best buy had it cheaper. To my delight I caught Best Buy advertising this item on sale for $579. It came with a year virus protection software, and best of all I didn't have to wait for it to be delivered ( you wouldn't believe the luck I have had with shipments).
To make a long story short I have had this laptop for only a day but have put the security features to test. I had my identical twin sister try to "hack" in multiple times through face and fingerprint recognition with no luck. Within a few moments of turning the computer on myself I was given access. I really wanted the core i5 processor, but didnt know if I would find it in my budget. I Hadnt really considered Lenovo when i first started looking, my last laptop was a HP and before that i has a Dell desktop (which I loved) and was considering Dell. Im glad I went with Lenovo though much better ratings these days. Its also very lite and the battery life is decent. I found this cheaper at Best Buy so you might want to look there!
